SIGNATURE QUILTS THIS YEAR
We typically reserve one area of our show to display the quilts of our featured quilter. This year's special area will be different, honoring the work of many of our members over the years, in the form of friendship or signature quilts.
About every 5-10 years, we forget how much work it was, and decide to have a friendship block exchange again. We're currently in the last quarter of one that was started in 2016. Each participant is assigned a month, and she decides what block she'll ask the others to make for her. Designs and difficulty vary, but each block is signed and becomes part of a very special quilt for its owner, a quilt that celebrates the close friendships formed between Pioneer Quilters.
In my blog post of April 8th, 2017, I shared photos of many of these Friendship blocks that were made in years past. Please scroll down to enjoy them.
Our show is less than two months away. Be sure you've marked it on your calendar--there are speakers and demonstrations you won't want to miss--and of course, incredible quilts to enjoy! Tuesday, April 17th through Sunday, April 22nd, at the Lane County Historical Museum.
