Our 40th Anniversary!

This year's show, April 21-26, celebrates our 40th anniversary!

Pioneer Quilters made its debut in 1975, starting with an ad in the local newspaper, a list of possible members, and a surprisingly large turnout of 30 women at that first meeting, held at what was then known as The Pioneer Museum (now The Lane County Historical Museum).

The group decided to call themselves the Pioneer Quilters, taking their name from the museum where they held their first meeting, and coalesced into a group of a dozen members who began by meeting at each others' homes to quilt together.

Now with 40-some active members, we are numerous enough to quilt around three frames at the same time.  We rent a spacious room at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Eugene for our weekly gatherings.

For forty years, Pioneer Quilters have quilted hundreds of quilts, made lifelong friendships, and have shared our craft at quilt shows and demonstrations at the Lane County Fair.

Our 2015 quilt show, The Unbroken Thread, celebrates our 40th anniversary as a club.  We will have a special display of quilts made by many of our honored founding members, including the first one quilted by the club.

We hope you will join us April 21--26, 2015 for this look back in time, over 100 lovely quilts (new and old), daily speakers and twice-daily demonstrations.
